Maths is cool! The numbers we use everday is made up of symbols. Like a decimal number can be denoted by the combination arrangement of symbols from the set {0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9}. Similary for base-16 set of symbols are {0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F}. Thus for a number in any base-X we need X different symbols to represent it.
